Year 6 start their £5 challenge.
Last week saw the start of Year 6s taking on the £5 challenge. Miss Battle set them the challenge of making as much profit as possible from an initial set-up amount of £5 per group. The winning team will then be able to choose which charity all the profits from the whole class will be donated to.
The rules of the challenge stated that the products should be home made or assembled, and the class have spent their maths lessons costing out ingredients to maximise every last penny of their £5 investment.
Pupils had their first attempt at selling their wares to parents, friends and peers after school last Friday. Each group was then able to re-invest any profit they made into new ingredients to sell again this week at the Daddy's Cafe on Thursday.
The children have really enjoyed learning about some of the processes required to set up a business, and have been shocked at the real price of ingredients!
