October activities in Year 6

This week in year 6 we've been continuing with our literacy theme of poetry. We've extended our range of poetry, by starting to write our own conversational poetry, along with thinking about slam poetry and how to perform it.

In maths we've really got to grips with BIDMAS - ask your children to explain it to you!  Miss Battle has been very impressed with the way that the children approached this new area of work with such a positive mindset.

Homework has been coming in, and shown in the photo above are some brilliant examples of the Maya temples, that some of the children have chosen to make.  Remember, all children are expected to bring in 3 pieces of homework - 1 from each section - by the end of this half term.

In P.E. Mr Carr has been pushing the children to extend their abilities in gymnastics, with a particular focus on cartwheels this week.  Outdoor P.E. is on a Friday, and children need to have warm kit to wear as the weather starts to deteriorate, along with appropriate footwear.
