The children have only been back just over a week and already there has been some fantastic work completed.
This profession is certainly diverse....dressing up for Roald Dahl Day, collecting escaped football boots off a roof and removing a dearly departed hedgehog from the field, obviously all at the same time as strategically managing the school.
Well done Year 1 this week for winning the class attendance race with 100%. Year 3 have already dropped below the 95% threshold, so let us hope things improve going forward. Year 4 were the most successful class in our new Superstar Reader scheme, whereby pupils are expected to now read at least 5 times outside of school to an adult and bring in their signed reading records as evidence of this. We are expecting 80% or more from each class to achieve this each and every week, in order to improve their reading abilities. There will be a letter coming home soon from our Literacy Coordinator explaining this in more detail for parents.
There has been some lovely written work completed as a result of Roald Dahl Day. These will be displayed in our narrow corridor. Pleasing to also see so many children achieving the Golden and Growth Mindset awards for some strong perseverance and determination, despite challenge and obstacle in their fantastic work. Well done guys - keep it up!
