Easter events welcome the Easter holidays in style!

Well the final full week of the Spring Term has ended and we enter the final three days jam-packed with Easter events, such as the Year 2 Class Assembly, the Easter Event Sessions for EYFS, our Easter Bonnet Parade and the Egg Raffle.

This half-term has been relatively swift, but so much work has been carried out behind the scenes to prepare new things for the pupils to enjoy in the Summer Term. The Reception outdoor area will benefit from some much-needed renovations and we are expecting some bright and colourful new playground markings.

Year 5 visited West Stow this week and Year 1 went to the Time and Tide Museum to learn about Saxons and the Yarmouth Bridge Disaster respectively. I am pleased all pupils engaged with the external learning that was on offer. The week also saw fantastic performances by Years 3 & 4 in their Bee Musical. Well done to all of them. More pictures of this are on the Photo Gallery page.

We experienced a first this week, where pupils from our recorder club treated us to a combination of singing and playing during collective worship. It was a skilled performance, so thank you to the pupils and Mrs. Loveland.

We will also be saying farewell to our newly hatched chicks at the end of next week, as they will be collected to be re-homed. This has proved to be a really successful addition to the Reception class, as well as the whole school, and has stimulated some fantastic learning and writing.

Super Readers was won by Year 4 with exactly 80%, so another piece of the bookworm was achieved. This means we are getting ever closer to another spin of the Wheel of Misfortune for staff. Hopefully, it won't end upon Miss. Studley and I again. Attendance was won narrowly by Year 5 with 98.68% over Year 1, who had 98.67%. All classes were above the threshold, which is a grand improvement after all the recent sicknesses.

Reception: 63%    Year 1: 60%  Year 2: 27%  Year 3: 60%    Year 4: 80%   Year 5: 70%   Year 6: 65%

I am sure I will see many parents in next week supporting our events for Year 2 Class Assembly, Bonnet Parade and EYFS Easter sessions as you always show willing to come and visit us. Thank you to all the Easter egg donations that were brought in on Friday for non-uniform day too.

Have a lovely weekend.
