Time to shine in 2018!

Can I first of all say a huge thank you to everyone for all the lovely Christmas cards and presents the Reception Class team received it was extremely kind and generous and we wish you all a happy and healthy 2018.

This half term we will be looking at a selection of Traditional/Fairy Stories and the ingredients for writing our own!  We will be reading stories, acting stories own, playing games, craft making and lots of other exciting activities to inspire your child's imagination and hopefully influence some exceptional writing.

We are so impressed with Reception children's writing, but we are sure we can shine even brighter!  Lots of children are beginning to write sentences remembering Capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.  This year we are focusing on the presentation of writing, making letters smaller, consistent in size and trying to keep on the lines.  During the follwing weeks we will be writing our own traditional/Fairy Tales both independently and with the support of an adult. We look forward to sharing your child's writing during this half term.

This week we will have the pleasure of welcoming a Touring Panto of Peter Pan to our school. I am sure the children will love it and tell you all about it after school !

PE will remain on Tuesday afternoon and Library day will be Wednesday afternoon.

Please remember to send your child in a warm winter coat and if possible a hat and gloves to keep warm especially as we will continue to work/play outside in all weathers.  If welly boots were taken home during the holidays please remember to bring back to school.

Wishing everyone a positive week
