Down on the Farm.

For the second part of the Spring term Reception Class are going to be learning about Farms.  We will be finding out about;

What farmers do on a farm.

What animals live on the farm.

What food and drink we get from the farm.

Life cycles

Animal mothers and their babies

Growing vegetables.

And lots more exciting activities including a special arrival on Monday 12th March, fingers crossed everybody will live them!

Hopefully we will be visiting a farm during our topic.  If you are thinking of any activities to do during the Easter holidays I would recommend the Spring Fling at the Norfolk Show ground.  I went last year with my family and throughly enjoyed it and age appropriate for Eyfs and older. There are lots of farm animals to see and handle, a show ring to watch animals being sheared, groomed and milked, craft activities, demonstrations of different foods being made such as cheese, ice cream, sausages and more, large machinery to sit on as well as tractor and trailer rides.  Included in the price is a hog roast roll and drink.  I have attached to link below, please have a look if interested.

Aswell as our topic work we will be continuing our Phonics phase 3. Maths we are focusing on recognising numbers to 20 especially the teens and above, addition, 2d and 3D shapes and their properties and begin to think about problem solving with numbers. Literacy we are focusing on rhyming stories and words and non fiction writing.
