Music to my ears

We have had another productive week in Year 4.

I am pleased with the writing progress we are making.  We are getting close to the end of our story writing block now. We will be doing our hot task next week. It has been very enjoyable linking it to our Victorians topic which has now come to an end.

Our next mini topic is going to be art based.  Look out for our next information sheet.  We will be learning all about how to create movement in our drawing.  We will be looking at the works of Degas.

In maths we have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.  We have also looked at placing numbers up to 10 000 on a number line.  Any help you can give with your child to consolidate this would be most welcome.

My favourite lesson of the week has got to be the Samba workshop. This week's featured photograph shows some of the children playing their instruments with Tim, the samba teacher.  He was excellent.  He really challenged the children to follow complex patterns. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

Thank you to the parents who made it in to look at your child's work on Friday afternoon.  We hope that it helped to give you a better idea of what your child is doing in class and may spark a discussion point at home too.

This week's secret word is 'Samba'.

Have a great weekend,

Miss Studley
