A performance to beeeeeee proud of!
Well done to Y3 and Y4 for their efforts in the Bee Musical. After weeks of rehearsing it was very rewarding to see the final product. The acting, singing, occasional missed line and fits of giggles all played their part in making it a memorable day. Thank you for supporting your children. Their faces lit up when they saw you in the audience and I could see how proud you all were too.
We have had another round of assessments this week. Two maths papers, a spelling test and a SPAG test.
Homework this weekend will be online. I gave out the pupil passwords for spag.com earlier this week. The children stuck them into the inside of their Reading diaries for safe keeping. A letter went out this week explaining spag.com. My next job, after writing this blog, is to set an activity for the children to do. They have all had an opportunity to log on in class this week so they are now familiar with how it works.
The latest spelling cauldron was given out today. Remember the cauldron contains words personal to them. They look through their work every few weeks and make a note of words that they can not spell. I do check in with individuals from time to time and see if they can spell the words so it is worth practising them as much as possible.
Congratulations on reaching the 80% target for the Superstar readers once again. Y4 was top of the school again this week although Y5 is improving so we need to keep working at it.
We have been doing a short block of RE on the Easter story and will continue next week. Our big question is ' Why do Christians call the day that Jesus died Good Friday?' Why not start a discussion at home?
Next week is a short week. The children finish on Wednesday. Remember to bring in Easter bonnets on Wednesday for a parade around the field where you are all welcome to stay. Drop into the hall for a cup of tea before the parade starts around 9.15a.m.
Swimming is as usual on Monday and we will also be having a swimming session on the first two Mondays back after Easter so please make sure kit is remembered.
The secret phrase this weekend is 'Palm Sunday'.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Studley and Miss T.
