Roald Dahl Day

In this section...

A celebration of Roald Dahl day at Homefield Primary.

On Tuesday 13th September, Homefield Primary School looked a little different to normal!  Staff and pupils were invited to spend the day dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character.  This was to celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday, and to remind ourselves of the many amazing characters and stories that he created.

The school day involved a special assembly, where teachers and pupils read sections of their favourite Roald Dahl books, teachers read to children during playtime, literacy lessons were inspired by Roald Dahl and some classes watched a live feed to a David Walliams workshop on writing.

We hope that the magical inventions of Roald Dahl will inspire our own pupils to even greater literary creations themselves.

Thanks to all the parents and families who helped create some amazing costumes.  To see more photos, please look at the gallery section of this website.
