Lots of illnesses hit Homefield!
In all my career, I do not think I have ever seen illnesses hit a school so hard, as they have recently. Several pupils and staff have been coming down with a variety of ailments ranging from tonsillitis to the dreaded sickness bug. In fact, I have only just recovered from something myself.
Please be reminded that if any child is sickness/diarrhoea, there is a 48 hour quarantine period required away from school from the last time they had an episode of it. This is so important to prevent the spread of illness to others, even though it may be difficult to find childcare for working parents. Please also remind children to wash their hands regularly, especially after using the loo.
On a more positive note, the Reception trip to Thorpe Woodlands was amazing and it was brilliant to see so many children enjoying the outdoors and taking brave steps independently. Behaviour was impeccable.
The choir did marvellously to win the Talbot Happy Cup at the St. Andrew's Festival. They were up against some stiff competition, but the spirit and energy of Homefield clearly impressed the judges, and the fact that we are good singers. Just another element to promote the love of music at Homefield. Well done to all pupils and staff who contributed.
