EYFS Sports' Day caps off a fabulous week.
It is always hard returning from a residential the following week to catch up on all the things missed, but this week has run smoothly. There have been a couple of trips: one to Bewilderwood for Reception and one to Colchester Zoo for Year 5. Both trips went off well and lots of fun and learning was had by all.
Special praise must go to all EYFS children for their stamina and endurance during their Sport's Day this morning. It was great to see so many spectators supporting them. There were some very funny moments and some children who certainly had their Weetabix beforehand. Thank you to the staff and helpers for their organisation.
Attendance I am pleased to say has risen above the 95% threshold. All, but Year 6, achieved this. This week's winners was Year 5 with 99.17%. Well done to the children in that class.
House points are reaching their climax and Kingfishers hold a narrow lead. Can they sustain their lead until the end of term? We shall see.
Letters will be going out Monday regarding our end of year Attendance Reward trip to the cinema. After trawling through the registers, we have about sixty children who are eligible to attend. We are going to the Gorleston Cinema and have decided (weather permitting) to walk the journey with the children and then ask parents to collect from there after the film has finished.
Those attending graduation will have had letters today and another letter regarding Leavers' Assembly will be handed out next week by Miss. Battle.
Next week, we have end of year reports going out and our KS1/KS2 Sports' Day. Hopefully, the weather will hold (although our field could do with some water desperately) and we will not need to postpone to the reserve day.
It is terribly hot, so please stay safe and hydrated in the sun. Have a lovely weekend all of you.
