In this section...

Busy week culminates in our Ofsted Insepction.

Well that was a hectic week.

On Thursday we finally had our Section 8 (one day) Inspection from Ofsted and it was a challenging and real experience for us all. A big thank you must go to the parents for their support and willingness to carry out the Parentview survey. Similarly, a big thank you goes to the pupils and staff for their efforts over the day. They really did Homefield and myself proud. We await the final report and outcome now and this should be with us in the form of a letter within the next three weeks.

Well done to our Year 3 pupils, who led a regal collective worship about how the Queen serves her people. It was great to see so many parents in supporting them. Likewise, I hope parents were impressed by the Read, Share and Review session with a Science theme on Friday afternoon.  I will endeavour to upload the photos that were taken next week. Apologies for my absence, but I was busy forging further collaborative links with several other schools in our area.

We had some basketballers compete against Woodlands on Monday and all pupils played exceptionally well. Our football match was postponed, until Tuesday 27th November at Peterhouse.

Design and Technology is in full swing now across the school, as the pupils design and create their own produce to sell at the Christmas Fayre. There has been cookery, sewing, electrics and woodwork taking place enhancing our desire to teach key life skills to our pupils.

This week's attendance was won by Year 3 with 100%. Well done to them. Year 4 and Year 1 fell below the expected threshold this week, mainly due to sickness.

Next week, we have Christmas dinner for the Senior Citizens from our local community and they will be entertained by our Year 3 pupils and by our choir. We also have our Decoration Day where parents can come in to assist the pupils to make Christmas decorations for the school.  Parents can sign up for being helpers next week. Don't forget we have our Christmas Fayre on Saturday.  I hope many of you once again will attend to raise even more funds.

Have a restful weekend everyone.
