Back to the Stone Age for Year 3!
Well what a day to end on weather-wise. It is hammering it down as I sit here typing my blog. Thankfully, I am not riding my bike home.
It has been a busy week, particularly for teachers who are writing end of year reports, but also for the Year 3 pupils who enjoyed the history of the Stone Age. They looked great immersed in animal print and wielding their stone hammers and clubs.
Our netballers also won a convincing victory over Cliff Park on Thursday. Any win over a much larger school is a real triumph for Homefield. Let us hope the team continue in the same vain and challenge for the league title. Great effort guys!
It was good for me to get back into the classroom today with Year 4 to see how they tackled their reading comprehension and to see how much they had learnt from their maths unit involving money.
Attendance this week was won by Year 4 with 98%. Well done to them. Year 3 were the only class to fall below the threshold of 96%. The House Team points race was closely won by Kingfishers. Well done Kingfishers.
Next week, we have our new Reception Parents' Open Evening on Tuesday at 6PM, we have our Save a Seal Bake Sale on Wednesday afternoon and we have the final day on Friday for children to collect Homefield University signatures for their extra-curricular clubs. Just a reminder that only completed books will be accepted.
Have a great weekend!
