The Name's Hood - Robin Hood - Licence To Thrill

In this section...

Week ends with fabulous performance!

I begin my blog tinged with sadness today, after a road traffic collision this morning occurred involving one of our pupils on Church Lane. Thankfully, I am pleased to state that the child was well cared for at the scene by family, staff and other parents of Homefield, until the Emergency Services arrived. Despite injury and obvious distress, the pupil is in good hands and we wish them well for their recovery.  However, it does raise the importance of road safety awareness, which we have spoken to the whole school about today and I urge all parents to do the same at home over the weekend, so no other individual suffers a similar fate.

Last week we raised money for the Friends of Horsey Seals with our Bake Sale and we made a brilliant grand total of £116.20. We hope to present a cheque for this amount to the Chairman of the charity in Horsey very soon.

Over the past three weeks, our Years 5 & 6 pupils have been rehearsing their performance of Robin Hood the Sherwood Hoodies and I have to say it was marvellous. In such a short space of time, they acted clearly, sang beautifully and timed their jokes to perfection. Tim Vine would have been most impressed with all the one-liners. The pupils really enjoyed taking part in the production and the comments from parents afterwards showed a unanimous agreement that it was the best performance they had ever seen.

Kingfishers won the House Team Points and Year 2 won the Attendance Race for this week with 98%. Disappointingly, every other class had fallen below the threshold of 96%. This must improve going forward.

Next week, Year 6 and I are off to Whitwell for their residential and Year 4 travel to Colchester Castle to support their Roman topic. Let us pray the weather remains dry and bright.

Thank you to the Harrier House Captains, who assisted me across the day with my duties.

Please remember to all stay safe on the roads and enjoy the weekend.
