Football fixtures dominate the week!
Sporting fixtures have dominated this week, despite the dark conditions. The Girls' played Woodlands on Monday and although losing, gave a valiant account of themselves. The Boys' then hosted Woodlands the following afternoon and narrowly lost a close game to a couple of goals through lapses in concentration. Another Boys' match is after school today against St. Mary's, so I am hoping for our first win. Then, we have another two on Monday for both teams with the girls playing again Tuesday. I think it is great that our pupils can represent our school competitively, some for the first time.
On Monday, the Year 6 pupils took part in Bikeability and it was rewarding to hear stories of determination and perseverance to learn to ride safely. On Tuesday, our Caring Crusaders went to Ormiston Venture Academy to train for the Diana Award (Anti-Bullying). Hopefully, they will achieve this again for the school.
Our Governors have also been in this week on a Challenge Day focusing on the SMSC and Christian Vision of the school. It was good to see them finding out about different areas of the school and speaking to staff and pupils about their learning experiences. I hope you will have received the letter regarding two parent governor vacancies, which with willing commitment from you, I aim to fill to expand the governing body of Homefield further. Please remember the closing date is Tuesday 26th November.
On Wednesday, we have our Year 3 Class Collective Worship at 9:00AM, so we hope to see you there supporting the children. In the afternoon, our Year 3 pupils will be having Christmas dinner with some local Senior Citizens.
At the end of the week, we have our Decoration morning where you can help the children make some Christmas decorations for the school and for the Christmas fayre. Parents can sign up for this on Monday, but remember we do have limited spaces for this.
This week Year 4 won the attendance race again and there was a joint victory in the House Team Points for Kingfishers and Harriers. That is definitely a first for me. Well done all.
Have a great weekend everyone!
