Holkham heights see Homefield pupils achieve personal successes in Cross-Country!
It has felt a bit like I have been out every day this week with different courses here and there, but the week was topped by the personal successes of the seven pupils taken to Holkham Hall for the Norfolk County Cross Country race. In beautiful conditions, the runners competed within a group of 80-100 pupils, all eager to be on the podium. Everyone performed superbly in front of so many people. Parents were beaming with pride. We had a 13th and a 17th place finish, as well as some in the 30-40 bracket and 60-70 bracket.
On the same day as the Cross Country, the PTA held their Bingo evening and raised £118. This is a superb achievement and much fun was had by all. Thank you to Miss. Grant for calling the numbers.
Thursday was World Book Day and Mrs. Newman has encouraged children to get sponsorship for different reading challenges. We have already had £50 in sponsorship donations. Thank you for these.
This week's attendance was won by Year 4 with 99.33% and Hawkers won the House Team Points race. Sadly, Reception, Years 2, 3 and 6 were all below the 96% threshold. This must improve.
Next week, we have Headteacher for the Day on Friday, where we will see events for Sport Relief taking place. We also have the Girls' and Boys' Football teams taking part in respective cup fixtures, the former at home to Caister and the latter away to Martham. Fingers crossed victories can be achieved and the next round entered.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
