Second week of the second lockdown comes to a close!
Well done we have all made it through another week of lockdown. It would have been our annual pantomime this week, but sadly, the pandemic has meant we have postponed it until after half-term. This is a great shame because we had already adapted it to ensure we were COVID-safe, but with infection rates being as high as they are, we have had no other option.
I have been monitoring the remote education available to all our pupils this week and I have to say I am extremely proud of the entire staff for their efforts in ensuring all our pupils at home are as engaged and as challenged as those in school and have access to the same level of interaction with them as well as their peers. It has also been great to see so many of you through the class Google Meet gatherings (once any technical issues has been resolved)
Lots of links have been shared with our parents via our Facebook page to assist them with Google Classroom on many different devices, including consoles. We await the delivery of device support from the Government and I have to say this is not going to be extensive, so please do not think requesting one is a guarantee of receiving one. These devices will be prioritised. Any devices loaned must have a loan agreement signed to ensure they are looked after and returned in full working order.
Similarly, we are pleased to be able to continue to offer school packed lunches for any of our families eligible for FSM (not UIFSM). Please simple ring the school office to inform them of the filling you would like in the sandwiches and these can be collected at 12:00PM each day. Please also see the parental support leaflet below reminding parents about the services still available from the County Council.
Hopefully, this infection rate will continue to decrease over the coming weeks and a return to school for everyone will be a real possibility.
Have a great weekend and please stay safe.
