Summer Term arrives and we are raring to go!
I have to say I do feel rather strange as I enter my final term at Homefield. It seems only yesterday I took over, but as I sit here reflecting...what a journey we have been on together. Thank you for some of the lovely comments I have already had from parents on the playground, but I have not gone just yet and I am adamant that this will be a term we will all enjoy.
It has been brilliant this week to see all the pupils back together once again. We have had some bright sunshine, but there is still a chill in the air, so make sure you wrap up warmly. This week, we have taken delivery of some fabulous books from Norfolk Children's Book Centre and our families in receipt of Pupil Premium have benefited from this, as each child will receive £120 worth of quality reading material that they have chosen. It was fantastic to see the children's faces when seeing the amount of books they could look through and choose, particularly in Year 3. We love the fact the children have such high aspirations and can only hope that parents, like staff, get behind the children's desire and love for reading.
Whilst, on the subject of Pupil Premium funding, each class has had £200 spent on books for all pupils to enjoy and we have purchased a selection of reading material from Barrington Stoke, which support Dyslexia. Reading is so important in life and really is the key to the door to all other curriculum areas.
My newsletter has been put on the website and the Summer event's timetable is also there for you all to see what we have coming up. As we are all aware, the dates are subject to change.
I hope the weather continues to improve and you all have a great weekend.
