Trips coming in thick and fast as term ends!
Well, it has been lovely to end the week at Colchester Zoo with the departing Year 6 pupils. The behaviour was fabulous, commented on by a nearby family visiting the zoo at lunchtime. We had a very informative talk about the rainforests and how we can ensure we do not inadvertently support the illegal pet trade by liking Facebook posts of wild animals in "cute" scenario videos. Year 6 have one more fun Friday remaining and then it will be their Leavers' Assembly to look forward to.
End of year reports went out this week and I hope you are all parents are happy with what the teachers had to say about the pupils in their classes. Please use the comments return slip to let us know your thoughts. Parents also have the opportunity to book a telephone call or virtual meeting appointment with teachers next week. Please ensure you use the booking link sent in a text to do this, if you do not think the report is sufficient.
Despite the Government announcing the lifting of certain restrictions on Monday 19th July, the Governors and staff at the school have agreed to maintain all safety expectations currently in place for the duration of the Summer term. This is to ensure the continued safety of everyone just days before the Summer holidays begin, when numbers of infected cases, the R-rate and positive individuals in Norfolk schools have all increased. Please see the letter on our website about expectations from Monday 19th July.
Next week, we have the Year 4 pupils off to Gressenhall for their evacuee experience. That trip will be Monday. Coming up, we have Years 2 and 3 with trips planned for Africa Alive and Egyptians at Norwich Castle respectively. Year 1 also have a mini monsters session coming in and Year 5 are off to Whitwell Hall for a day.
So another jam packed week to look forward to.
Have a great weekend and COME ON ENGLAND!
