Shaun, Scarlett and Bethany take part in the schools cross-country finals.
On Wednesday 7th March Homefield Primary School sent 3 representatives to compete in the Norfolk Schools Cross Country Finals, at Holkham Hall. To qualify for this event they needed to finish in the top 10 of the East Norfolk School Sports Partnership cross country that was held at Fritton Lake in January.
Shaun Joseph in year 4, Scarlett Snell in year 5 and Bethany Cooper in year 6 all made it to the finals. The day itself started with torrential rain, leading to challenging conditions to race in! After picking up their special yellow t-shirts, our runners took part in their races, running against the other top finishers from all over the county of Norfolk, with 80 children in each race.
They all showed real Homefield spirit, with determination and perseverance clear to see. Bethany in particular had to work extra had after she was tripped near the start, and another runner landed on top of her! Shaun finished in 73rd, Scarlett in 64th and Bethany in 41st. Well done to all three of you.
