Yesterday afternoon, Homefield Girls' Football Team claimed victory over North Denes, to progress further in the Cup.
After a frustrating match, which saw several chances go begging, the Girls' team were triumphant. The game ended 1-1, with Homefield managing to equalise through Lizzie Crickmore off a through ball from Honeysuckle Carlyon-Blanchard. Special mention must go to Jessie Crickmore, who played fantastically as sweeper.
The dreaded penalty shootout followed, with nine out of the ten penalties taken failing to notch a score. Luckily, our hero Honeysuckle saved the final penalty from North Denes, which put Homefield through to the next round.
Next game is against Woodlands away - hopefully we can be more clinical in front of goal.
