The Reception Class blog for children and parents in the 2018-2019 cohort

Welcome to the Reception Class blog. Here you will find lots of information about what happens in class (additional to what you see through your child's Learning Journey on Tapestry), tips and links to support learning at home and much more.

As with the older children, we shall have a weekly blog post with a weekly password. Password sharing then informs us that you have had fun sharing the blog together and may be rewarded with a sticker as we do not yet have House Points like Key Stage 1 and 2. Blog posts are a way of keeping in touch without paper based newsletters, helping us to be eco-friendly but inform you of useful bits.

This is only a brief post... Stay tuned for a "One Stop Shop" with times/ dates for PE, Bushcraft, Library etc. followed  by weekly updates.

The children are settling in well into full time school. We are now beginning to add more routines as the children become familiar with the rules and what is expected of them. We are currently assessing all the children to inform our Baseline data and following this we can then begin more focussed teaching. We shall be offering different workshops across the academic year to support you and your child achieve their best.

Reminder:

Tapestry Workshop- Wednesday 3rd October 2018 at 9am. It would be lovely to see as many of you as we can. This is a chance to learn about Tapestry, how we use it, how you can use it and what happens at the end of Reception.
