The last week....
So we are officially finished for half term! It has been a long week after a busy 7 weeks of learning and with of course parents' evenings this week too, so I think everyone is feeling a little sleepy. We thank you for all attending it was lovely to get a chance to talk and tell you how your child is doing in class. If you do ever have any questions of worries please do let us know as we are always here to help!
Maths this week has been fantastic! The children have been learning their number bonds to ten (which means two numbers add to make ten), they have done exceptionally well and we are really proud of how quickly they secured this new concept. After half term we will be continuing to add numbers.
English this week has been once again looking at using adjectives and orally constructing sentences, in which the children have done rather well. They have gone on to write some of their own sentences and have been looking at when we use capital letters within our writing. If we could please ask you to continue to practise the rainbow words at home and try to read with them as much as you can, as this really helps them!
Friday afternoon was rather busy too with parents being invited into class! A big thank you to all of the parents that did attend, we hope you enjoyed it; as we know that the children loved showing off their work and having adults in. It was a lovely afternoon, with lots of smiles!
We hope you all have a lovely half term and that the children get lots of rest, as we will be straight back into learning from that Monday.
See you all soon,
The Year 1 team
