This week was busy with Remembrance day and Children in need...
Year 1 has had a very busy week this week with lots of extra curricular activities occurring. We all went to the local cenotaph on Monday to pay our respects and lay our wreath/poppies; the children all waited and listened well considering the time we spent there. Friday was busy with Children in Need, thank you to all those who gave their children money to donate, a final amount will be announced soon. The children had a fun morning completing an online (live) Joe Wicks workout session in the hall, alongside Pudsey of course. They also completed different Pudsey themed activities throughout the day, which the children really enjoyed.
Maths this week has been the end of subtraction for this half term. The children have done really well and seem to have a good understanding of how to subtract a number, so well done to them. Next week we will be moving on to learning about shapes.
English this week has been focusing on acrostic poems, they have completed some on different words and themes including fireworks, family and Pudsey. They enjoyed working through these, although it was quite tricky coming up with some of the different words for certain letters.
As the children are now beginning to have homework can we please ask that this is worked through, as best as they can, each week.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
