This week in Year 3
w/c - 12/9/16
We have been learning lots in Year 3 this week!
This is what the children said they have enjoyed most this week.
In literacy this week we have been writing poems about the sea. We have had to include lots of adjectives to make our writing more interesting. Miss Konieczny was very impressed with some of the adjectives we thought of.
In maths this week we have been learning about place value and adding up numbers. We can now recognise hundreds, tens and ones.
We have started to learn French! Ask us a question and see if we can answer yes or no in French.
We wrote a message in a bottle for a wall display. We had to think about something we are thankful for and decided there are a lot of things including family, friends, sunshine and the wind. We used what we have learnt about adjectives this week to make our writing more interesting.
Our topic this half term is 'What makes a great holiday.' As part of this, on Thursday afternoon, we had a learning trip to Great Yarmouth sea front. We walked a long way and it was very hot! We started near Joyland and walked all the way to the Pleasure Beach. There were a lot of horses with carriages to take the tourists for a trip along the Golden Mile. We also saw amusements, hotels and a mini golf. The ice creams looked yummy but we didn't get one.
