Over the past two weeks all of the children have taken their Star Reader Test. This gives the children readability level and this is used as a guide as to what book they should be selecting. At parents evening next week you will be given an appropriate book for your child and a letter which includes more information.
Last week we focused on art. The children had great fun looking at a range of different European artists and designers. We painted on ceiling Michelangelo style, made hats inspired by Coco Chanel and we finished the week with some beautiful self-portraits.
This week has been an RE week. We have been learning about what it means to be a pilgrim. Miss Everett came to visit us to tell us all about her experiences of going on a pilgrimage. The photos looked amazing and it helped us to understand how special it is to go on a pilgrimage. Next week we will be writing our own poems about what it means to be a pilgrim.
In English this week we have been focusing on animal poems. Today we used words cards to build our own silly animal poems. Next week we will be writing, illustrating and performing our very own animal poems.
In maths this week we have been focusing on adding and subtracting three digit numbers and ones. This has been a little challenging for some of us but we have all worked very hard and we have worked very hard.
Our secret word this week is Miss Clarks favourite animal!
