A Busy Half Term!
Hello Year 3, I hope you are enjoying your first day of the half term holidays. We have had a really busy and exciting start to 2019.
In our English lessons we focused on writing to persuade. This accumulated in some excellent posters and radio adverts. We definitely have some future inventors in Year 3.
After half term our writing focus will be to entertain. We will be using the story of Robin Hood for our legends and quests unit and we will be using some Pie Corbett poems for our poetry unit.
In maths we continued to work on multiplication and division. We have also completed some work on money which will be finished after half term. After half term we will also spend some time on factions and statistics.
This half terms topics have been computing, the human body, flowers and our local history study. After half term we have a geography unit focusing on the UK, an art unit focusing on making a 3D box frame and an RE unit focusing on how Christians talk about God.
We will also be continuing with swimming lessons after half term. A reminder that earrings do need to be removed for swimming days.
The children have all been given their scripts for pur upcoming show Plastic Pirates. Please encourage your child to read through their lines. We will be starting rehearsals after the half term holiday.
Enjoy your break and we will see you next Monday :)
