Christmas, Mogs Calamity and the Iron Age!
I have to start this week’s blog by congratulating the children on how super they were at the senior citizens lunch last week. It was a wonderful event and our visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Over the past two weeks we have continued with our Stone Age to Iron Age topic. We have done cave paintings, time lines and learnt a lot about what things were like. Yesterday we made an Iron Age oatcake recipe and today we got to enjoy them as we listened to an Iron Age tale. Next week we will be finishing this topic.
In English we are writing letters. We are using Mogs Christmas Calamity to inspire our letter writing. In maths we have been focusing on multiplication and division. We have been using some funky times tables songs to help us remember them. In German we have recently learnt how to say I am, my name is and what is your name.
We have been practising very hard for our carol concert next week. We have also had a special visitor called Elfis and he delivered some wonderful Christmas stories for us to share. Another thank you to all of the parents who helped during Decoration Day, we cannot believe it was a week ago as Sam has just said... wow time flies!!
We were a little sad that we only had five Superstar readers this week. We really hope that this number increases next week. Remember even if it is not your accelerated reader book still write and sign what books or reading materials you have read.
Have a lovely weekend! The secret word this week is tinsel!
