Back in time to the Stone Age!
Well we have certainly done lots of time travelling this week in Year 3. We have in fact travelled back in time about one million years to when evidence suggests humans first lived in Britain. But humans have not always looked like us! We are gradually getting closer to the present day and we have started learning about the Mesolithic era of the Stone Age which began bout 11,000 years ago. We had great fun under the tables today creating cave paintings. We loved our PE yesterday playing hunter gatherers.
As the Stone Age is so interesting we are using the text Stone Age Boy in both English and Guided Reading. We are working on improving our retrieval skills when reading and our understanding of vocabulary.
In Maths we are developing our addition and subtraction sheets. We are working hard to become fluent in our recall of key addition and subtraction facts.
I am so proud of the children's determination when completing our assessments this week. They all worked really hard and as a class we are now working on the things that we found challenging.
This week's Spelling homework is on Google Classroom. Work can be submitted via Google Classroom over the weekend or on paper Monday morning.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe,
Miss Clark :)
