To infinity and beyond....
Well I think it is safe to say that Year 3 have worked incredibly hard this week in all of their lessons. They have shown a great enthusiasm for learning, and we are seeing their confidence shine. We had 15 Super Readers this week, next week we are aiming for 20. We also added another 115 miles to our reading miles bringing our grand total to 274. The map shows how far we have travelled.
In English this week, we have finished exploring the sentences in our class model text. We have looked at the text the Skies Above my Eyes and had great fun planning what is above or below us in our own fantasy lands. Next week we will be planning and writing our own texts. I hope to be able to share some with you on here next Friday.
In Maths, we have continued to find fractions of amounts. Today, we learnt that one half is equivalent to two quarters. Next week we will be building on this knowledge.
We have finished our multi faith unit this week. Today we wrote about our own commitment ceremonies. Next week, as a school, we will be learning about Great Yarmouth. In Year 3, we will be learning about the herring industry.
We have now had our three gymnastics sessions. PE will continue to be on a Thursday and children need to come to school on Mondays in their usual school uniform.
Have a wonderful long weekend.
