Congratulations on successfully completing your first half term in Year 4. I hope you spend the next week relaxing and having adventures with your family. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year, make sure you don't miss out. Why not get out into the local countryside and look for the signs of the season.
This will prepare you nicely for our block of outdoor learning that starts with Mr Earle on the first Monday back. We will also be having outdoor PE for the other half of Monday afternoons so it is essential that you have your tracksuits in school to keep warm enough.
We will be continuing our English block on fables, as we had an interruption in the last week due to assessments taking place. Addition and subtraction will continue in maths. Please use Times Tables Rock Stars to keep your number fluency sharp. We have now subscribed as a school. Don't forget to use Hit the Button which is a free online maths game designed to aid fluency too.
Thank you to those of you who came to parents' evening this week. I hope you found it useful. It is encouraging to hear that the children are very excited about our residential to Kingswood next May. Don't forget to sign and return the permission slip asap.
Our first learning block will be science. We will spend 3 weeks on electricity and sound. Take a look at the attachment below to share together. Use the knowledge organiser to get ahead and learn some of the scientific language we will be using in class. That will give us more time to get on with the learning and practical elements of this fun subject.
We had 12 children read the blog last week which is slowly stepping up. Please spread the word. Our theme for collective worship next half term is all about serving others. Therefore, the secret word is 'Service'.
Have a great week. From Miss Studley and Miss T.
