Art Opportunities Well Received

In this section...

Thank you to East Norfolk Sixth Form College

We had a great time at the Sixth Form College on Thursday. They welcomed us into their art department where we were shown how to make a clay coil pot. The children were very inspired by the teacher 'Jacob' and the rest of the staff were very friendly.

We have had an enjoyable week in maths. I have been focussing on the blue challenge group.  We have been adding and subtracting fractions with a different denominator. It has been lovely to welcome more and more children to this group so we can push you all to your limits. Miss T has done a wonderful job with the other groups; we are very lucky to have her as our TA. Fractions continues next week. I am pleased with the way the class has embraced this topic.

We finished our persuasive writing unit by writing a letter to Mr Young to convince him that it would be good for our school to have a dog.  We will see how persuasive the children have been! We have now started a unit on reading and writing play scripts.  This fits in nicely with our own play 'Plastic Pirates'. I hope you all received the texts about costumes yesterday. We would like them in by Friday 29th March please. Come and see me if you have any queries.

We had 17 Superstar Readers this week. This is an improvement. We also had 100% of the class reading at least once. This hasn't happened for a long time so well done everybody! Let's see if we can keep it up.

Thank you for your kind donations for Comic Relief.  It was good to have the school filled with colour today in support of this worthwhile cause.

The final Bikeability group is happening on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March so this still gives you plenty of time to get out on your bikes and carry out the safety checks.

Have an enjoyable weekend.  The secret word is 'Sculpture'.

From Miss Studley and Miss T.
