The Great Outdoors
With the half term break upon us I would like to launch a little class competition. Inspired by the stunning colours of autumn, I would like to invite Y4 to enter our class photography competition. All you need to do is take a photo (including yourself in the shot) of a place that shows off the autumn colours. The trees are so beautiful at this time of year. If you are not going on holiday it doesn't matter because there are plenty of local walks where you can find trees. You may even have a tree on your road or even in your garden.
Choose your favourite photo and bring it into school. If you don't have the facilities to print then you can send it to me by email: firstname.lastname@example.org We will make a lovely class display. I think it is important to appreciate the seasons and to get out and explore as much as we can. It will also tie in with our big question for our new block of RE.
The RE question is ' What kind of World did Jesus want?' We will be studying RE for 3 weeks. Your child has a Knowledge Organiser in their bag for this unit. Please share it with your child at home. It will help to give them a slight head start with some pre learning.
On the theme of outdoors, we will be having our 6 week block of outdoor learning starting on the first day back. Please make sure your child has a warm coat, as Mr Earle will take us out in all weathers.
I am asking that pencil cases are left at home after the holiday. They are proving to cause several little distractions throughout the day. We provide everything your child needs. Encourage them to keep their pencil cases at home so they have all the equipment they need to complete homework etc. We will review the reintroduction of pencil cases later in the year.
Thank you to all the parents who came to parent evening this week. It was good to meet some of you properly for the first time. If you are reading the blog for the first time then welcome!
We hope you have a lovely week off and we look forward to our next half term. See you all on the 28th October. The secret word is 'Autumn',
