Cross Country Fun
Firstly, well done to those children who represented the school in the cross country event on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day but the race was tough. This did not stop 10 children from our class giving their best. We have 3 of our class who progressed to the next stage. It will be at Holkham Hall on 4th March. The full report is on the sports blog.
We are also delighted to hear that we received the best possible grade of 'excellent' in our SIAMS inspection. This is brilliant news. See Mr Young's blog for more information on that.
We are a healthy bunch! I am delighted to say that for the 3rd week in a row we have earned 100% attendance! That is just brilliant. Can we keep this up for a 4th week and beyond?
In English we are starting a unit on letter writing. It will be a formal style to ask for something. We will be using the text by JRR Tolkien 'Letters from Father Christmas'.
In Maths we will be starting a unit on measurement, looking at length and perimeter.
In topic we start two weeks of Geography. We will be learning about the countries in Europe. Your child has gone home with a Knowledge Organiser today so please share it with them to give them a head start.
A text went out today to remind those of you who have not yet returned the maths papers to do so ASAP please. I sent them home over the half term but I'm still waiting for about 10 sets of papers to be returned. It is very important that I get them back so I thank you for your cooperation.
The secret word this week has to be 'excellent'.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Studley and Miss T.
