First things first....

The children in Year 4 finished off their unit of Outdoor Learning with a potentially life-saving lesson on how to use a defibrillator.  This week's featured photo shows Mr Earle teaching these valuable skills to a group of Year 4 children. This concluded a series of lessons on first aid training and navigation skills.  The children have been presented with a certificate on each element of their training and are wearing their badges with pride too. Thank you Mr Earle!

From our unit of letter writing it has been brought to my attention that not all children know their postal address or telephone number.  Again, these things could prove to be crucial in life so please spend some time checking to see if your child knows these personal details.

There are a few children who have not indicated whether they will be attending the evening carol concert next Thursday.  Please return the slip asap.  The children all have words in their bags so please help them to practise.  It will count as a read if you sign it in their reading diary.

On the note of reading, we have about half the class reading regularly and the other half have slipped considerably recently.  Christmas can knock our routines out but it can also present new opportunities to read different things with your child. Let's see if we can make our last full week a top week for reading next week.

Can you start collect stamps to bring into school. If you receive any Christmas cards in the post please cut the stamps out and bring them in.  We will be collecting them for charity. More details will follow.

Next week we will be writing creatively using the film 'The Snowman' as a stimulus. We will be doing multiplication and division in maths and continuing our art work in the afternoons.

I hope to see as many of you as possible at the Christmas Fayre tomorrow between 11 and 3pm. The children will be able to purchase their tree decoration for £1.50. Go the the Year 6 classroom.  If you can't make the fayre we will save it for you and you can buy it on Monday.

Have a great weekend,

Miss Studley and Miss T.

The secret word is defibrillator.
