How do our ears work?

The best bit about being absent for three days this week was coming back to messages from the supply teachers who did nothing but praise up our class! It made me feel very proud indeed. The new teachers did a great job in my absence and they also recognised just how hard-working and helpful Miss T is.  We are very lucky to have her as our TA.

This week's featured photo was of a hockey lesson that took place on Wednesday. The children love to get out and try new things. On that note I am still looking for people to consider joining the Kurling club on Thursdays after school.  If there is no interest I will need to offer a different club for after half term because it is a waste having staff from Go Geronimo coming in with very few children in the group.  Let me know if you are interested in starting after half term otherwise I will make alternative plans or open it to other year groups.

In maths this week we have been multiplying and dividing. We have learned about multiplying 3 numbers and about factors. As always, ask your child about these things.

In English we finished our topic on speech writing.  We will continue reading our class book but will start a unit on playscripts.

We will be finishing off our science and starting geography next week.  Look out for the knowledge organiser early next week. It will be looking at a comparison between our country and other locations in Europe.  This will build on our unit on Europe from last term.

Next Wednesday we are lucky enough to have a teacher coming in to lead our newest enrichment activity.  This time we will be having a taster lesson on Musical Theatre. These enrichment days often lead to clubs starting so be sure to feedback if your child enjoyed it.

There a few children who have been improving with the regularity of reading at home or reading the class blog. Thank you if you are supporting these things.  These routines get the children into good habits and make them feel part of the class, especially as this blog keeps us all up to date at a class level.

Sadly, I have not heard back from the power station about a possible visit but we will not give up.  I will keep trying to see if a visit is viable, even if it is later in the year.

I wish you all a happy weekend.  The secret word is 'vibration.'
