In this section...

Welcome to the 2nd half of the Autumn Term. It has been a blessing to see the sun this week.

Thank you to all the children who have brought their change of shoes in every day.  We have been bringing so much mud into the school after play times, it is not fair on the poor cleaners, so it is good that we can do our bit to look after our school. Don't forget the carrier bag too.

I have to say it has been quite a noisy week.  We worked hard on this last half term and honestly thought we had cracked it. However, since the holiday it seems as though a lot of us have forgotten the rules to work quietly.

Your child went home with a new knowledge organiser today.  It is in preparation for our new topic of the Romans in Britain. Any time you can find to share this with your child will give them a head start.

We have been completing some assessments in maths and reading this week. Next week in maths we will be doing some addition and subtraction.  In English we will be looking at how paragraphs are used. Our new text is The Castle Ghosts from a book called Haunted. We are using it in both our reading and English lessons.

Thank you to all of the children who submitted an entry for the 'Name a Gritter' competition.  I have sent the top 3 off to the County to judge.  We will hear results next week. Also you have sent some stunning autumn pictures in.  We are making a display in the classroom.  If anyone else would like to enter please send them in any time throughout November.

Have a great weekend.  The secret word is 'remembrance'.
