It has been another busy week.
We have been using fractions to solve problems in maths. I have seen some great determination from the children to keep going when things get tricky and some purple dot work (which is the most challenging maths) has really impressed me.
The children have been enjoying our class novel 'The Day I Fell into a Fairytale' which Mrs Clarke has enjoyed reading to them. We had 12 children reach their recommended 5 read target this week which means we now have 27 links in our chain. We were a bit down on last week but so many children read 4 times which is a real shame as we would like to win the inter class competition and make our chain the longest. Come on everyone! If you leave your diary at school it's OK because you can still write a note on a piece of paper to show your child has read, and we can transfer it into their book.
Our English unit will continue next week. We have been working together to stimulate lots of ideas for writing our holiday brochure. The extent of the children's vocabulary has been impressive.
Our secret word is diversity.
Have a great weekend from Miss Studley and Mrs Clarke.
