Our reading chain is snaking across the classroom.
Another week of learning is over. This week has flown by so quickly; I hope half-term week doesn't pass so quickly!
One of the highlights of this week for me was outdoor PE. We have been learning the skills to play netball. This has been building up to playing our first actual game which happened this week. The children picked up the rules quickly, and we had a brilliant time. I was very impressed with how enthusiastic they were. This bodes very well for September when the children will be Year 5. I will be doing a netball club which I hope will be full of children from this class.
As I have been marking the English work, I have been so impressed with their independent writing. This week we have been learning about writing a persuasive letter. We are writing to David Walliams as an inspirational author.
This has tied in well with our own love of reading. 20 children earned a reading link this week and two of those children were first timers so very well done if you were one of them! We now have 107 links in our chain but would like to break through our record of 21 in one week. Keep reading!
In maths, we have been looking at decimals, and more recently hundredths. We have one more week on decimals before we move onto measurement/money.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, don't get blown away! The secret word is 'blustery'.
