A very warm welcome to our new class member Alfie!
Firstly, it is good to be back after almost a week of being poorly. I was very disappointed to be away when our new child started. However, there was no need to worry as Alfie has settled in famously. When I asked Miss T how he had settled in she said it was like he had always been part of our class. After just one day together I agree. We are very lucky that Alfie chose Homefield and I'm sure he will do very well in our class. This week's featured photo is Alfie getting a mention in our celebration assembly today.
As I've only been here one day this will be short. Thank you to Mr Young and Mrs Taylor covering the class this week and to Miss T for being the constant. It really has been lovely being back. I have missed the children a lot!
We have another week of multiplication and division next week. We continue our science block learning about states of matter. We will look at materials to consider whether they are solids, liquids or gases. We will look at how some materials change when they are heated or cooled. Take a look at the water cycle if you get a chance.
Before I forget I just have to say coming back to see our Superstar Readers chart was just the best gift. 27 children read at least 5 times this week to earn their star! That is a record-breaking 90%! We came top again in the school and I couldn't be prouder! Thank you for all of your support with this. The children are so motivated to read. They have established such a good routine and I am certain we can maintain this. Well done Y4.
The secret word this week is 'favourite' (it is one of our spellings plus it has the word 'our' inside which I keep emphasising to the children when it gets mixed up with 'are'). Happy weekend from Miss Studley and Miss T.
