Painting with Plasticine.
Year 3 have begun their art journey with something a little bit different and very exciting, painting with Plasticine!
The children looked at British artist Henry Hudson whom is best known for his Plasticine textured paintings, and author and picture book illustrator Barbara Reid whom uses Plasticine to create images for her children's books.
Using a picture of personal choice, the children recreated this as a pencil drawing in their sketchbooks before shading in colour. It was this work the children then re-created as a Plasticine painting manipulating the material with their fingers and using different tools including paintbrushes and spoons.
Next half term, Year 3 will be developing their drawing skills with a typography project.
